DIRECTOR OF UNICEF IN SERBIA AND PRESIDENT VISITED PALILULA CIVIC YOUTH CENTER CRVENA ZVEZDA PALILULA SETTLEMENT Director of the UNICEF Office in Serbia Michel Saint-Lo and president of Palilula Municipality Boban Džunić, after signing the protocol, visited the Community Centre in the settlement "Crvena Zvezda", which thanks to the many volunteers and the support of Palilula, for more than a decade, is helping children of Roma population to cope with school work. According to Tamara Simonovic, executive director of the Group for Children and Youth "Indigo", the priority tasks of the center are the motivation for education, empowerment of children and young people to become actively involved in the local community and the health care of young people. By signing the Protocol on Cooperation between actors in the prevention of early school leaving of children, is a significant step forward. Boban Džunic, president of Palilula Municipality, expressed his satisfaction with the visit Director of UNICEF Michel Saint-Lo to Palilula Municipality, which as a territorial organization of the City of Nis, with over eighty thousand people, according to statistical parameters list from 2011, is on the back of economic development and level of population education. Director of UNICEF expressed his wish that during his mandate in Serbia, in the next three years, even many vulnerable groups children stay in school. I would like an even greater commitment to families, especially want to see more fathers involved in the education process.
